Texas A&M fans may not be missing out on much with Cam Coleman's Texas commit

The best WR possible for Texas A&M in the portal is now a Texas Longhorn. It's not the news that A&M fans wanted to hear, but they have a history of coming up short with these kinds of commits and still doing OK.

Coleman came up short against the A&M defense in 2025, as Cashius Howell hindered Jackson Arnold's ability to do anything.

I'm sure A&M fans remember the name Micah Hudson. You probably ask: Why do I bring his name up? He was a five-star recruit who had originally committed to the Ags, but ended up backing out only to return to Texas Tech. It seems A&M didn't miss out much at all without Hudson in their lineup.

Micah Hudson's silent season means Texas A&M can do without all-star recruits

If you're an avid SEC watcher, obviously, Coleman has more to speak for compared to Hudson. Coleman went for 56 catches, 708 yards and five touchdowns. Texas is getting a good one, no doubt.

Texas Tech was one of the best teams in college football this season, and Hudson only came out for a handful of games. If A&M fans were to run it back again, they would do the same thing over KC Concepcion and Mario Craver.

Hudson also fits the mold as a Texas A&M receiver, as someone who isn't as tall but has speed out of this world. Hudson only had eight catches for 112 yards this season. It's safe to say the Aggies would love another speedster, but Concepcion and Craver did enough in that department.

This isn't the news Aggies fans wanted to hear, but it's not the end of the world. Elko isn't done yet, and he definitely wants to redeem himself by getting another WR.
