Texas A&M football hosting yet another surprise five-star visitor today
Texas A&M football hosting five-star Oregon commit Trey McNutt as Aggies continue efforts to flip multiple highly rated prospects
Texas A&M football is building something, and the recruits are taking notice.
Mike Elko is pushing his chips to the center of the table in a huge way here as the Aggies are less than a month out from early signing day and still in competition for an SEC championship and playoff spot.
Only hours after a report today that the Aggies would receive a visit from five-star WR and USC commit Jerome Myles, and on the same day they are hosting five-star OT and Missouri commit Lamont Rogers, news came down that the Aggies have yet another five-star talent committed elsewhere in town.
The Aggies went strongly after Shaker Heights S Trey McNutt earlier this year before he eventually made his verbal commitment to Oreogn. But since that time, the Aggies haven't let up.
It looks like that strategy is beginning to pay off, as according to Steve Wiltfong of On3, McNutt is down in College Station today visiting the Aggies.
Though McNutt is listed as a safety, he has the coverage skills of a lockdown corner—only one of the multiple facets that make him such a highly-coveted recruit in this upcoming class.
We've been writing a lot recently about how special the 2026 group could be for Texas A&M football, with several highly-rated commitments early in that year. All the while, it's possible we were overlooking what Elko and the Aggies are doing in this current cycle.
While 2025 was always going to be solid, this is truly shaping up to be a special close to this class. If the Aggies can get these recruitments to the finish line, it will be a huge testament ot the tireless efforts of this entire staff.
