Texas A&M football reveals alternate uniforms for LSU game, and there's a surprise
Texas A&M football finally reveals alternate "Black Out" uniforms that will be worn this weekend vs. LSU
From even before the season began, Texas A&M football fans have known that the Aggies would be wearing a black uniform against LSU. The jerseys have been available online for quite some time, so fans have been aware of the look for a while.
Two things, though, were still unknown: the time at which the game would be played and the rest of the uniform. With the news last Saturday that the Aggies would be playing at night, the A&M staff and players have leaned into the blackout motif all week.
There has been plenty of speculation about what the rest of these uniforms might look like. A few minutes ago, the X account for Texas A&M football finally dropped the reveal video, which you can watch below.
That's right, Aggie fans: not only are the Aggies going full blackout with the uniforms (not a shade of maroon in sight, at least from this video), but there's a special surprise with the helmet, too.
For the first time, A&M will rock a helmet with a script "Aggies" on the side rather than the classic block ATM we are so used to.
With the response to the blackout from a certain vocal minority, I can't say these will be universally met with adulation; however, you can count me as a fan of this alternate look. I think adding this change, especially with how popular this script look has been among fans, is an extra pop of excitement for this game.
With LSU going with an all-white look for this one, we'll have quite the color matchup this Saturday. Here's hoping the Ags emerge with a win in these new duds.
