Texas A&M football recruiting stays red-hot as Aggies flip five-star OT Lamont Rogers from Missouri
Texas A&M football recruiting has been on a tear recently. The Aggies have soared to the number one class in 2026 following four high-profile commitments in the junior class, and murmurs have been circulating about their chances with even more top players from that year.
One of the dominos that Aggie fans have been waiting to see fall is that of Mesquite OT Lamont Rogers. The now-five-star prospect has had A&M high on his list for quite some time, but when he initially committed to Missouri back in the summertime, fans became bearish on the Ags' chances to land him.
However, a visit to Kyle Field from Rogers flipped the script expeditiously when A&M triumphed over Missouri by a 41-10 mark. At that point, Rogers was projected to land at A&M by all the recruiting prognosticators.
Now, a little over two months later, the flip is complete. Rogers announced his decision to swap his commitment to the Aggies just moments ago.
Rogers is the biggest and longest of the three five-star tackles from the Dallas area—the others being Ty Haywood (Alabama commit) and Michael Fasusi (Oklahoma commit). His size and reach are elite, and he projects as a dominant starter at tackle.
This is a huge victory for Adam Cushing and Mike Elko, both of whom have been tireless on the trail this cycle. Rogers is now the cornerstone of a very impressive OL class, and as the unit up front for the Aggies continues to turn around following years of poor play, he will no doubt be a key piece of that renovation.
