Texas A&M's home schedule this year has several big time highlights that fans will be anxious to see— their premier out-of-conference game, against Arizona State, is in week two, and the Aggies will also get to play host to Arkansas and Tennessee. This all leads up to the Lone Star Showdown on the day after Thanksgiving, which could well be for a spot in the playoff or SEC Championship, as it has been the past two years.
While that's the big highlight, the Aggies will definitely have plenty of excitement going on for the other games, without a doubt. I've already called my shot for which game will be the now-seemingly-annual blackout uniform game, a staple since Mike Elko came to town, and that has been seemingly confirmed by Texas A&M's latest announcement.
Mike Elko noted at SEC Media Days last week that this year marks the 150th anniversary of Texas A&M University, and mentioned that the anniversary would be observed in the football game against Arkansas. A tweet today furthered that notion, and might have dropped a hint about what exactly the Aggies have planned.

Here's the post from the official Texas A&M Aggies account that hints at what the Aggies are going to be doing for the Arkansas game on October 3:

The Corps member being in the foreground here seems pretty intentional. Texas A&M was originally founded as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, and has been training cadets for military service since its inception all the way back in 1876.
Just this past season, Texas A&M basketball wore Corps-themed alternate uniforms, and we could be seeing the football team debut something similar in this game against the Razorbacks. That's a bit of a risk, of course, but it's been a while since the Aggies had a truly bad alternate uniform design from Adidas, so the creative team is clearly operating with a bit more vigilance than they had been previously.

The framing is very similar in both tweets, but if you look closely at the tweet about the Arkansas game, you can see that the picture was taken during a blackout game. That could just be a coincidence, but it also could be indicating that this is going to be the blackout game.
That would be a little less special, of course— if the Aggies are going to do a blackout game every year, then it doesn't make a lot of sense for this to be the big thing they are putting on the docket for the 150th anniversary celebration— but it's hard to deny that this is a possibility. I am still of the opinion that the Tennessee game in November is the better choice, but this could be a two birds, one stone situation.
Whatever it is, Aggie fans can get excited that something special is coming for them on October 3. This will be the first time that Arkansas has played in a full-power Kyle Field since 2012, and you had better bet the Ags will be ready to welcome them with a bang.
