Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel is one of the rising stars in the NBA for his deep-range shooting, and Texas A&M wants a piece of the Knueppel family in Aggieland in 2027.

Kager, the younger brother of Kon, is a four-star power forward in Wisconsin and is gaining traction with some major Power 4 schools. Texas A&M has now entered its name in the pot for what's expected to be a busy summer for the Knueppel family.

Many schools, including Wisconsin, Purdue, Arkansas and Duke have made offers to the 6-foot-10 four-star power forward, and it seems the easiest route would be for Knueppel to follow in his younger brother's footsteps and go to Duke.

Is that likely? Yes, but only because of the family history. Purdue has also been a big brother in the recruiting business lately, after the four-run of Zach Edey, Braden Smith, Trey Kaufman-Renn and Fletcher Loyer.

If any coach can upset Duke for a four-star athlete with family ties, it's Bucky McMillan. He already stole Cade Phillips away when he transferred out of Tennessee. Phillips, with historic family ties to Alabama, decided elsewhere, and Bucky completely fleeced Nate Oats when he had a direct line to the former Tennessee big man.

Duke is also Duke. They've been blue bloods for as long as anyone can remember. They're also in a 10-year drought of winning a national championship, even though some of the biggest names like Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Paolo Banchero, Grayson Allen, Luke Kennard, Cooper Flagg and Kneuppel himself have all fallen short of the big dance.

McMillan has already landed four-star guard Chase Richardson in the 2027 class, one of the best in the Lone Star State. The Ags have already started an avenue in 2027 and beyond, and Kneuppel can be another piece to the puzzle.

It's going to take a lot, but Knueppel is the perfect commit to build McMillan's already strong recruiting resume.
