Texas A&M has just landed five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey out of Hampton High School in Georgia, beating out Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, and Georgia Tech to bring in their first five-star rated prospect of the 2027 recruiting class.

The 6’3 190 S from Hampton, GA chose the Aggies over Georgia, LSU, & others

Dorsey fits the mold of the kind of enforcer that will take Elko's defense to an even higher level. Think Antonio Johnson with this guy— his presence and versatility was absolutely vital to the success of Mike Elko's defenses in his stint in College Station as defensive coordinator, and Dorsey can fill that same role.
This also represents a huge victory for Texas A&M over the Georgia Bulldogs. Not only is it plucking a high-level prospect right out of Kirby Smart's backyard, but UGA has a reputation of landing top-rated defensive backs in particular. With Smart being a former UGA defensive back himself and specializing in that area of the defense, this is a huge win for Elko and the Aggies.

This is the kind of recruiting success you start to see when you have the wins on the field that the Aggies have had this year. They are positioning themselves well to bring in a massive recruiting class in the upcoming cycle thanks in large part to big wins like we saw over Notre Dame and LSU.
This is the first of two five-star level announcements that the Aggies are anticipating from the 2027 ranks this month, as Maryland CB Raylaun Henry is scheduled to announce his decision two weeks from today. If the Aggies go two for two there, they will have one of the best secondaries in the entire nation going forward.
For now, though, this is a massive recruiting win— one that will grab a lot of eyes around the country as the Aggies continue to build a potential number one class in the 2027 cycle. They're in the running for a huge number of top prospects in the current junior class, and this could be the catalyst to start a lot of momentum for the Aggies.
