Power ranking the SEC in 2025 preseason: #1 - Alabama

New management, same old spot. Four losses on the Alabama ledger last year was pretty shocking to see, but Kalen DeBoer's team stands to take a huge step forward in the upcoming season.

DeBoer once more pairing up with Ryan Grubb is the source of a lot of hope in T-Town, even if they will be breaking in a new quarterback. Having a guy like breakout star Ryan Williams will help ease things for Ty Simpson, not to mention the usual cadre of talent one expects to find on an Alabama roster.

Former Texas A&M defensive lineman LT Overton is one of the highlights on what should be an excellent Alabama defense. Of course, it's again dotted with five-star talent across the board, just like in the Saban days, but after last year it's worth asking if DeBoer can get as much out of them as Saban could.

Running back Jamarion Miller, a one-time Aggie target, tops the running back depth chart here. He's set to have a pretty big season behind maybe the best offensive line in the sport, which will help buoy the Tide throughout the year.

The most challenging spots on the schedule are road trips to Georgia and South Carolina, but the Tide have the talent to emerge victorious in both instances. Don't be surprised if Bama is back in Atlanta again this December.
