One of Texas A&M's three five-star defensive back commits, Raylaun Henry, energized the Aggies' fanbase today when he announced that he was officially shutting down his recruitment in favor of the Aggies.

Henry was previously being pursued by the likes of Bama, OSU, and others.
He explained his decision with @GigEm247, and says he’s locked in two trips to A&M.

The Aggies won for the commitment of the Maryland product over the likes of Alabama and Ohio State— unsurprising, as Henry is one of the top prospects in the entire nation. Along with safeties Kamarui Dorsey and JayQuan Snell, he is a five-star DB commit to the Aggies in their quickly-ascending 2027 class.
This is a massive move for Mike Elko and Texas A&M as they continue their pursuit of the top-ranked class in the nation for the upcoming year. Their 11-2 season in 2025 opened a lot of eyes, and the Aggies are beginning to capitalize on the momentum they earned with that season by these kinds of victories.
Texas A&M adds to blazing hot 2027 recruiting as CB Raylaun Henry shuts down recruitment in favor of Aggies
Henry committed to the Aggies late last year and has been solid ever since. This move was big to help launch the Aggies into true contention for the no. 1 class in the cycle, and that prospect has only grown more auspicious since then.
Henry is the definition of a lockdown corner, with unbelievable acceleration and speed— but he's also one of the more physical defensive backs that you'll see in the entire country. Texas A&M and Mike Elko certainly got a real gem when they picked him up, and so locking him in like this is huge.
Texas A&M could still even add to this amazing class of defensive backs as they continue to pursue the nation's top corner, North Crowley CB John Meredith. If they are able to bring him into the fold along with Henry, this will be one of the best defensive back classes to sign with any school in recent memory.
