Texas A&M recruiting's five-star momentum could bring unbelievable result

This seems almost too much to hope for, but if it were to take place, it would be completely unbelievable.

Texas A&M football is already bringing in one of the highest-rated defensive back classes in school history, but it could be about to get even better than even the most optimistic Aggie fan thinks. The Aggies currently boast three five-star commits in Kamarui Dorsey, Jayquan Snell, and Raylaun Henry— and don't forget the slept-on Hakim Frampton— but they're not done yet.

There's been a lot said about the Aggies' prodigious chances with the nation's top corner, John Meredith from North Crowley High School up in the Metroplex. Texas A&M does appear to be the team to beat for Meredith, no doubt, but they have a chance to get even another five-star defensive back prospect.

Joshua Dobson, the no. 2-rated corner in the nation, is currently on campus for the Aggies right now. He's been a longtime prospect that the Aggies have been in on, and it looks like he's enjoying his time in College Station.

Texas A&M looking to add yet another five-star defensive back to already-loaded haul

Dobson tweeted this in the middle of his visit to Aggieland:

That's not much in and of itself, of course, but it does look like the Aggies are continuing to build momentum with him in this recruitment. With three five-star prospects already in the boat, that's quite a move to make.

If the Aggies were somehow able to land both Dobson and Meredith— very much a long shot, but they are certainly top contenders in both cases— then they'd hold commitments from the no 1, 2, and 4 cornerbacks in the nation. That's just projection right now, but it's mind-boggling to consider.

The reality is that the Aggies will probably only be able to get one of these two in the maroon and white when all is said and done. Of course, that would still be completely massive for this class and set the Aggies up for a shutdown secondary for years to come. To be at this point is a testament to everything that Mike Elko and his staff have been able to do on the recruiting trail— the future is definitely very bright for Texas A&M recruiting.
