The full SEC schedules for 2026 dropped last night, and Aggie fans were eagerly awaiting to see when they would be playing some highly-anticipated matchups. It didn't disappoint, as the Texas A&M faithful saw things unfold last night, culminating in a full schedule for next year that's chock-full of amazing games all across the Southeastern Conference.
The only issue is the difficulty of the nine-game SEC schedule. This is no easy feat that the Aggies and others will be trying to pull off, and it seems highly unlikely that we will ever again see the same kind proliferation of 10-2 teams as we did this year.

Gone are the days of three layup games, one relatively difficult non-conference matchup, and then the rest of the SEC schedule. With the new nine-game SEC slate, there are going to be some hugely difficult stretches every single year.
The Aggies needed to schedule a new out of conference opponent after dropping the game against Tarleton, and that will apparently come against the Citadel in mid-October. That and the opener against Missouri State are really the only guaranteed wins here.
Arizona State will be losing Sam Leavitt, which will mean they are doing a fair bit of resetting. Getting that game at home helps as well, but remember that they are the only team that knocked off Texas Tech so far this year— this isn't a pushover.
Kentucky under Will Stein will be an interesting challenge in week three. The week four trip to LSU is as well-timed as you could hope for, as they continue to break in a new system under Lane Kiffin and will be coming off of an emotional game in Oxford, MS.
The big ticket is that month of November. Texas A&M will have to try to break a two-game losing streak in Columbia, SC, host Tennessee, and then play OU and Texas in back to back games. Getting out of November at 3-1 would be massive— and most likely mean that this is yet again a playoff team.
Still, though, this nine-game conference slate is quickly getting very real. This is no joke— for a team to get out of the conference with only one loss will be a huge deal.
