The class of 2027 could be just as packed as 2026.

Mike Elko has already taken his tools to the recruiting trail to end up at perhaps the best class of 2026. Elko has already brought in some four and five-star talent, making for an easy start to the 2027 campaign.

One name that rocked Aggies fans last weekend was quarterback Jayce Johnson from Georgia. Pending anything too bizarre, Johnson is set to be the next face of the offense after Marcel Reed.

Johnson is already doing Elko's work in terms of recruiting. He quote-tweeted at TexAgs' video recapping Johnson's skill sets, and he isn't wasting any time trying to reel in some other names to Aggieland.

Jayce Johnson looks already proud of his Texas A&M Aggie commitment status

This is a great sign for the Aggies, as we've seen in the past with huge-name commits opting out of their verbal commitment during the season. Johnson already looks on board, and he's not wasting any time trying to bring in his next bunch.

The Aggies already have plenty of momentum riding into their 2026 class. Johnson calling out his fellow peers to commit to Texas A&M is just the start of more recruiting victories to come for Elko and Klein.

Johnson already has the frame to compete in college football. He still has one more year of high school to go, but his combination of size and accuracy is a great sight for Aggies fans to see. Reed's body represents what a true runner should look like, but if the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Johnson can get loose and run with the football, it could be scary to see what this kid could do in the open field.
