Texas A&M's astonishing 2027 NFL draft class could be even better than this year

The Aggies just had a historic NFL Draft weekend— but it could be even better next year.

Texas A&M is coming off of a historic NFL draft weekend for the program, seeing ten Aggies drafted to different NFL teams over the course those last three days. That breaks all kinds of records for the Ags— especially given how many of these were top-100 selections— showing Mike Elko's imprint on the program pretty solidly.

For however impressive this was for the program, though, things could be even better next year. That may sound like a pipe dream at the moment, but a quick jaunt through the names included on Texas A&M football's roster for this upcoming season shows that it is very much a reality.

How many Aggies could we see drafted next year? Through only the third year of Mike Elko's program, he's done nothing but defy expectations and break records— and he could break his own that he's just set as soon as a year from now.

Texas A&M could see an even better 2027 NFL Draft class than they just had this year

Here are the players who are currently considered to be likely to go in next year's NFL Draft. Players with an asterisk will still have eligibility remaining past this year.

WR Mario Craver*

CB Dezz Ricks*

DT DJ Hicks

S Dalton Brooks

WR Isaiah Horton

DE Anto Saka

DE TJ Searcy

LB Daymion Sanford

DT CJ Mims

That's nine players right there. It should be said that Sanford's injury could affect things, but there seem to be some really positive trends on that front, which is encouraging.

This list of players could go in the draft if they end up having a notable year in the 2026 season, but are not necessarily locks to go in the draft at this point.

S Bryce Anderson

S Marcus Ratcliffe

S Tawfiq Byard*

WR Terry Bussey*

CB Rickey Gibson III

QB Marcel Reed*

DE Ryan Henderson

LB Ray Coney

OL Mark Nabou Jr.

OL Tyree Adams*

OL Wilkin Formby

OL Trovon Baugh

TE Houston Thomas

TE Micah Riley

DT Angelo McCullom*

If every player from the first list is drafted, the Aggies would only need two of the above players to be selected in order to break the record they just set. I think there are certainly at least two breakout candidates here, which means that we could be having some very similar conversations about the Aggies this time next year.
