Texas A&M's offensive line recruiting has become a huge strong point since bringing Adam Cushing to campus under Mike Elko— his coaching has brought along the Aggies' offensive front to heights not seen in quite some time around College Station. It's no coincidence that the Aggies had 4 offensive linemen selected in the NFL Draft this past year, and they are looking to continue building on that success going forward.
They've done that in multiple ways so far: not only did they bring in a stellar portal class at the position, snagging four SEC starters with invaluable experience to join up with the maroon and white, but they are set to bring in at least two five-star tackles in the upcoming class of 2027 in Mark Matthews— the top offensive lineman overall— and Kennedy Brown.
That's a huge deal for the future of the program: a solid offensive line can help erase a lot of other deficiencies on a roster, but it's extremely difficult to build a unit that gets to that level of quality. However, with Cushing's talent acquisition and development, the Aggies look like they are set to get that for years to come— and that talent acquisition is beginning to manifest in the class of 2028.
Texas A&M set to host no. 2 offensive tackle in class of 2028 as OL recruiting continues to skyrocket
With the 2027 class all but completely sewn up at this point, the gears have begun to turn for the junior class for most big schools around the country— and the Aggies have already been making some big time moves. They have their five-star quarterback in Donald Tabron, and they are looking to get some massive wins on the offensive line to join him, including no. 2 OT Maui Tonata:

Tonata, ranked as the 9th overall player in the class by 247Sports, is set to come visit the Aggies on September 19, when they face off against the Kentucky Wildcats. That should be a great environment for the Aggies third-straight home game and SEC opener, one that won't be matched by any of the other schools on his visit list.
Tonata is not the only highly-rated offensive tackle who's considering the Aggies for the upcoming season, though. The nation's no. 1 tackle, Antijuan Wilkes, is also giving the Aggies a long look— and the aforementioned Donald Tabron is a high school teammate of his.

The two programs are battling Ohio State, Miami, Alabama, Missouri, Georgia and Florida.

Could the Aggies land two five-star tackles again in this class after doing so in 2027? They appear to be top contenders for both of these players, as well as a highly-rated in-state guy like R'Monie Edwards, so it is not out of the question. Stacking talent like this will continue to snowball, as the more NFL draft picks the Aggies produce, the more elite offensive linemen will want to come to College Station.
It's very early, but things are already setting up quite well for Texas A&M to do the unthinkable once more in this 2028 cycle when it comes to offensive line. Hopefully, they'll be able to pull off another huge haul along the OL behind Cushing's lead.
