Texas A&M football is well on their way to having yet another top-ranked recruiting class in the 2027 cycle. The Aggies have closed out both of Mike Elko's first two classes in Aggieland pretty strongly, ranking in the top 10 in both, but this upcoming cycle promises to be a whole new ballgame on that front.
The Aggies are one of the teams with a lot of buzz early on to finish with the number one class in the nation. Can they deliver on that promise? If they do, it will be following a blueprint very similar to this.
How Texas A&M can finish with no. 1 recruiting class in 2027: Close out John Meredith III
Priority number one will be getting the top-ranked recruit in the class over the finish line. John Meredith, a cornerback from North Crowley, has long had an affinity for the Aggies, and Texas A&M is the team currently predicted by several insiders to land the lockdown cover man.
With a player of this caliber, of course, there can be no letting up in the recruitment. The Aggies will have to press hard all the way to signing day, even if Meredith makes a decision in favor of Texas A&M soon— but adding him to the already-extremely-solid defensive backfield that the Aggies have in the boat would be huge.
The Aggies have the inside track here. If they can parlay that momentum into a commitment, they'll be in good shape to get where they want to go with this class.
