Texas A&M's path to the no. 1 overall recruiting class in the 2027 cycle

There's a definite path for the Aggies to end up with the top-ranked class in the upcoming cycle— one which they are already well on their way to.

How Texas A&M can finish with no. 1 recruiting class in 2027: Pick up some diamonds in the rough

While the Aggies are in the mix for quite a few five-star prospects, Elko has also proven his worth in finding and developing lower-ranked players. The Aggies already have quite a few high four-stars in the boat as well, but Elko and company are clearly high on guys like Hakim Frampton, an A&M commit that the services have ranked a bit lower.

Elko has had very few misses from this ranking cohort, showing that if the Aggies put the full-court press on a lower-ranked prospect, they aren't just going for a warm body. Texas A&M's recruiting strategy under Elko has panned out quite well already, and this is a key piece of things.

Bonus: Pull off Elijah Robinson special with massive defensive line coup

Could the Aggies flip top-five recruit Jalen Brewster from Texas Tech? A recent staffing change in Lubbock has clearly soured Brewster on the Red Raiders, even if just a bit, so it's definitely conceivable that the Aggies press the advantage here.

This is a bit of a long-term play, but it's something that Elijah Robinson no doubt has a strong intention of pressing into. Brewster is a wrecking ball in the middle of the defensive line, so getting him on board would be quite the eyebrow-raiser.

Jaiden Bryant is another name to watch here. The Irmo, South Carolina product recently declared a commitment to LSU, but he was all over the Aggies for a bit. This could be a situation where Lane Kiffin wanted to make a splash early by picking up a five-star prospect, and he later rethinks things— if so, the Aggies could definitely be the beneficiary.
