Texas A&M vs LSU takeaways: Why this 2025 Aggie team is different

These aren't your same old Aggies— and they just showed why.

Texas A&M just rolled their rival LSU Tigers in a complete whooping last night in Baton Rouge. The Aggies get their first win in Tiger Stadium in 30 years, and they've also announced themselves as national title contenders to boot.

Here's what Aggie fans can take away from this huge win as the Ags enter the bye.

Texas A&M vs. LSU takeaways: Texas A&M is more mentally tough than ever

This Aggie team can roll with the punches way better than any other A&M team we have seen in recent memory. That's a testament to their coaching and culture, of course, but fans are just now coming around to it.

Mike Elko has spoken a few times about how Battered Aggie Syndrome is something that happened before he got to College Station and really has nothing to do with him— and that's looking more and more prescient by the day. This is a fanbase full of people who are ready to believe that things will go poorly for their squad, and sometimes they're right.

But with this team, that notion is beginning to slowly melt away. Texas A&M had so many bad bounces go against them in the first half— the blocked punt and safety, both interceptions, the bad snap throwing things off— but they fought through all of it and absolutely destroyed the Tigers in the second half.

The thing about this kind of mental toughness is that it begins to snowball. They've found it now, and it will persist as they go forward. I wouldn't want to be facing this team in November.
