If Texas A&M fans could design the perfect game for this team to play down in Death Valley against the LSU Tigers, it would include pretty much everything we just saw from the Aggies. The fact that this is true even despite getting a punt blocked for a safety, throwing a interception in the end zone, and another one at midfield while driving in order to score before half is mind-boggling.
Punt-return touchdown? Check. Repeatedly embarrass the five-star who flipped to LSU and burned a hat with your logo on it? Check. Marcel Reed Heisman propaganda going completely bonkers? Check. Pack out Death Valley with Aggies and have all the LSU fans leave early? Check. Have Brian Kelly screaming at his assistants all night? To be fair, that's kind of a given.
The Aggies in the third quarter completely made mincemeat of the Tigers. There was nothing that either side of the ball could do against A&M as the Aggies ground LSU into submission on both lines of scrimmage.
Texas A&M shows they are national title threats as they whomp LSU in Death Valley
It was truly a culture win, as the Aggies were alluding to leading into this one. There are precious few teams over the last decade that have won back to back SEC road games that don't involve stops in Lexington or Nashville, and every one that has has been a national championship contender.
This was just a complete domination by the Aggies. Even in the first half, when it seemed like nothing could go right after the first two drives, there was still a sense that the dam was just about to break for the Tigers.
This is the definition of a statement victory. This is the kind of win that can flip a guy like five-star Lamar Brown, as the Aggie recruits have been attempting to do for some time— it helps that he was in attendance, of course. This is the kind of win that propels a team forward to whatever heights you could imagine.
There is now no abiding hurdle still remaining in front of the Aggies— no bugaboo that seems to bite them every season still waiting in the wings. They have conquered every demon that you could imagine, whether road wins, road ranked wins, winning in Death Valley, overcoming slow starts, battling back against red-hot opponents— this Aggie team has really done it all.
