Texas A&M just rolled over Missouri by three touchdowns yesterday afternoon, despite coming in as only just under a touchdown favorite. The Aggies' weapons were too much for the Tigers on both offense and defense, and they are quickly earning a reputation as one of the best teams in the entire country.

So what can we take away from this game against Mizzou? Let's dive a little deeper and talk takeaways from this game up in Columbia.

Texas A&M vs. Missouri takeaways: Aggies have work to do in run defense still

Let's get the bad out of the way first: the Aggies should have completely stuffed the Tigers all day in the run game, but thanks to undisciplined play in their gap assignments, Missouri was able to gash the Aggies for several big runs.

It was more explosiveness than it was down to down dominance— there are few teams in the nation, if any, that could really bully the personnel on this front— but it still has to get reigned in if the Aggies want to be successful in some of the big games that are coming down the pike. They should have some success against South Carolina next weekend, as the Gamecocks have had issues all year running the ball, but you never know who the postseason will have you face.

Missouri ended up on the day with 207 yards on 34 attempts for a cool 6.1 yards per carry. That's well over their season average (only the second time a team has done that against the Ags), and it simply should not have happened. This will be something to watch going forward for this team— they have the personnel to do it, and losing Scooby Williams didn't help in the slightest, but they have to put it together soon.
