Texas A&M fans are less than pleased that they'll be without Scooby Williams for their upcoming game against the Missouri Tigers, but Mizzou just sustained a loss that will match that impact. Pete Thamel of ESPN reported on Friday afternoon that Missouri TE Brett Norfleet will miss the matchup between the Aggies and Tigers with an injury after being listed as questionable leading up to the game.
Sources: No. 22 Missouri star tight end Brett Norfleet (shoulder) will not play against No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday in Columbia. Norfleet leads both the Tiger and SEC tight ends with five touchdown catches. On the season, he has 26 catches, which is No. 3 on the team. pic.twitter.com/nldopCn3pv

Missouri loses star TE Brett Norfleet for matchup vs Texas A&M
This is a definite break for the Aggies, as Norfleet was no doubt set to be a safety blanked for first-time starter Matt Zollers in the game. Zollers will have enough on his hands trying to navigate the ferocious Aggie defensive front, and this is just one more issue he'll have to handle.
Norfleet ranks third on the team in receptions per game at 3.3, averaging 8.62 yards per catch— in other words, he's been one of the best weapons for the Tigers when they need to pick up short to medium yardage through the air.
His best game of the year came against Kansas, when he notched 7 catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. He hasn't scored a TD in the last two games, though his profile functions to make him a solid red zone threat.
The Aggies have the players to match up well on the outside in Will Lee and Dezz Ricks— there are very few receivers that A&M fans fear with no. 2 and no. 4 manning the cornerback spots. Without Scooby at linebacker, however, defending the tight ends could be a bit treacherous, so this is a break for the Aggies without a doubt.
This will still be no cake walk, as the Tigers are backed up against the wall in this matchup. Lose this game, and Mizzou is fully out of the playoff picture; win, and they're right smack dab in the center of the discussion.
Texas A&M has showed poise on the road this entire year, though, and I expect them to continue to do so in this game. With no Norfleet, the Tigers will have quite a task in front of them to take down the no. 3 Aggies.
