Le'Veon Moss leads successful rushing game for Aggies
Le'Veon Moss's return is one of the most key aspects of this game for Texas A&M, yet at the moment, it's a prospect still shrouded in mystery. Moss is still listed as "questionable" for this game as of the most recent injury update, with another set to come tonight, but given that he was practicing on Tuesday, it seems like he should be available (hopefully).
If he is, that could be huge for the Aggies. This is a very aggressive Miami front, and the Aggies' veer run package could use that aggression against them to great effect, especially if Moss is toting the rock. He can break tackles better than anyone else on this roster, and turning 3-4 yard gains into 5 or 6 yards can help keep the Aggies ahead of schedule.
If A&M can control the game on the ground with a consistent presence in the run game, then it can open things up in a big way for the rest of the offense. Things then become easier for Concepcion and Craver on the outside, and the Aggies will be able to keep this Miami defense off-balance.
This will be no easy task, of course— the Aggies are facing a Hurricane defense that has given up more than 100 yards rushing in only four games this year. Of course, one of those was to Virginia Tech in the game before last, who put up nearly 200 on over 5 YPC and over 50% rushing success.
That's the only team that has exceeded 50% rushing success against the Hurricanes this year, while the Aggies have done so 4 times. If Texas A&M is over 40% rushing success in this game, though, then we can consider that a relatively strong performance.
