Why Texas A&M defeats Mississippi State: Aggies manhandle MSU up front

The Bulldogs are already without one of their offensive tackles, Blake Steen, who they lost for the year pretty early on this season. Now, with the status of Albert Reese, their other offensive tackle, trending in a negative direction, the A&M defensive front could be in for an absolute field day.

The Aggies absolutely demolished Auburn up front in the pass rush last game, and it could be a similar dynamic with Blake Shapen. The Bulldog quarterback likes to hunt for the big play, and Cashius Howell could be in his grill before he knows it.

It's not just Howell who they have to worry about, though: David Hicks, Tyler Onyedim, and Albert Regis have all shined on the interior. I think that State will be working with some long downs and distances after the Aggies drop them for more than a few negative plays.

Even with their full complement, they were a team that struggled to pass protect and stay ahead of the chains consistently. That is another good sign for the Aggies, who will be getting after the quarterback early and often in this game.
