LSU and Texas A&M have had some cinematic battles over the years.

That's likely to happen this Saturday night when the Tigers come into the Home of the 12th Man.

One of the storylines is about a quarterback who might just eat his own words after this weekend. It's a tough game for both teams, nonetheless.

LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier is playing with fire

We've seen this before.

Garrett Nussmeier decided to take a page out of the failed Missouri playbook. He compared Death Valley to Kyle Field by saying, "Kyle Field is loud...but it's not Death Valley."

Again, where have seen this before? Missouri quarterback Brady Cook had to pay for his bold claim that Kyle Field wasn't loud.

Texas A&M players said after the game that they took that personally. If the Aggies win, you could bet those players will have Nussmeier's comment on their minds.

Nussmeier probably realized the mistake that Cook made a few weeks ago talking about the Aggies. So, he backtracked on that controversial claim and gave Kyle Field credit for the stadium it is.

Nussmeier now gives respect to Kyle Field, but who believes he was pressured to backtrack? Who knows.

This is definitely the number one storyline going into this contest.

Injured key players on both sides

We talked about the unfortunate injury of Harold Perkins. This will be an impact on this game for the Tigers.

Perkins is likely to be an NFL player after this season, but we'll have to just wait and see what happens.

Perkins is a big force of nature coming off the edge in a hurry, his presence will be missed.

Of course, we also touched on the injury to Mark Nabou early in the season, but the Aggies have been adjusting pretty well.

This will be a game that will come down to who's stronger in the trenches, and the Aggies still have a strong case for that category.

SEC race on high alert

Both teams are the only unbeaten teams in SEC play.

This will be incredibly important in terms of who will be in front of the SEC race.

Of course, Georgia still has a solid case of being the strongest team currently after their victory against Texas, but in SEC play, you look at that conference record.

A&M is 4-0, LSU is 3-0, and you want to be playing your best football heading into November.

Crazy that A&M has come this far since week one, but the truth is, we've covered this team from the offseason to now, and we've talked about all kinds of storylines where Texas A&M could be successful this season.

This could be an early legacy-making victory if A&M gets out of Saturday night with this one.
