7. LB Scooby Williams
This is a bit of a projection on my part, but learning that Scooby played all of last year with a torn meniscus and still put out the level of play that he did is something that deserves mention here. He was one of the better players on the defense, and he— by rights— should have been pretty hobbled.
Coming back with another year of experience in Elko's system is not insignificant here, either. Alongside Taurean York, Williams forms the perfect complement: his instinctiveness and athletic gifts along with York's cerebral style will make this a tough duo to reckon with.
The super-senior transfer from Florida should be set for his best season yet in 2025. A&M desperately needs the middle of their defense to be solid, and Williams will play a huge role in making sure that's the case. Clean up some tackling issues that popped up from time to time in 2024, and it will be a banner year for no. 0.
