It's hard to put into words what senior guard Wade Taylor IV has meant to the Texas A&M basketball team over the past four seasons. He's made a massive impact for this team from the moment he made the move to campus.
Need further proof of that? In Thursday's heart-stopping double-overtime loss against Texas, Davis made plenty of headlines in the middle of the action. Davis, who scored 25 points in regulation, became the all-time leading scorer in SEC Tournament history.
To have his name at the top of the list is an incredible honor. Unfortunately for Taylor and Aggies fans, his tremendous performance came in a losing effort. Taylor finished with a game-high 29 points, impressing the way he normally does:

Wade Taylor IV is now the SEC Tournament's all-time leading scorer
This was a back-and-forth affair and one that the Aggies were in great shape to come out on top of. However, the fact of the matter here is that the Longhorns were the ones to make the necessary plays in the second overtime session.
Now, Texas will move on to the quarterfinals to take on Tennessee on Friday. As for Taylor, the personal history has to feel nice for him, but he would have certainly preferred to be playing against Chaz Lanier, Zakai Zeigler and the Vols instead.
Last week, the Aggies were able to stun then No. 1 Auburn, which gave the team a ton of confidence leading up to the conference tournament. It gave some fans some hope that maybe, just maybe this team could go on a deep run in Nashville.
Taylor was set to play a big role in making that happen for his team, but it just wasn't meant to be for him against the Longhorns. Despite the loss, it doesn't take away from what Taylor has been able to accomplish throughout his incredible career.
