Way too early bold predictions for Texas A&M football's 2026 schedule

The 2026 Texas A&M schedule came out, and there are some bangers on this schedule for must-watch SEC play.

The Aggies will have a couple of non-conference games to start. Missouri State and Arizona State will come to town early in the season, and then it's all SEC competition from there. The Aggies will play against a new-look Kentucky team, including a now-former defensive coordinator, Jay Bateman.

The Aggies will also play Oklahoma for the first time since the Cotton Bowl blowout back in the 2012 season. And of course, the Aggies will finish off with Texas. There are tons of takeaways on this schedule, but here are two bold predictions to take from the Texas A&M season for the 2026 season.

Texas A&M starting 4-0 means they have no problem making the CFP

Texas A&M can start 4-0, giving them lots of credibility to go back to the CFP. LSU will start a new era with Lane Kiffin come 2026, so we'll have to see how he starts his career.

They also need some cushion before they face Alabama, but they will have to figure things out with Ty Simpson possibly leaving for the 2026 NFL Draft. But a 4-0 start is realistic for them, and it could be their ticket punch for the CFP before facing Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas— if this team is good enough to win in Death Valley again, they could get to 10-2, which may be the cutoff mark.

Texas A&M splits games with former Big 12 foes

Yes, I said it.

Going up against Oklahoma and Texas in back-to-back is going to be tough, and even Aggies fans know that.

My prediction will be that the Ags will split these two games. Which ones, you might ask? I think it's possible to lose to OU in Norman, then go back to College Station to beat Texas. John Mateer is projected to be an NFL Draft prospect, and Arch Manning says he doesn't want to go anywhere.

They do say the third time is a charm, and Mike Elko's third time will be a win vs. Texas.
