If you had asked Texas A&M fans a little over a week ago which of Albert Simien and Kaden Henderson they felt better about, the answer would have almost unanimously been the first as opposed to the second. Most thought that, in these two recruiting battles between the Aggies and the Irish, it would be Henderson that landed with Notre Dame and Simien who would be in Aggieland.
Fast forward to today, and we see that the exact opposite has taken place. Henderson is in the boat for Texas A&M, and, as of this afternoon, Simien has committed to Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish.

That is a gut punch for the Aggies for sure, especially considering how long they were considered to be the leader for Simien. Steve Wiltfong predicted the Aggies to land the Lake Charles, LA product all the way back in last September, but two more five-star offensive linemen committed to Texas A&M before Simien got to decision time.
Where Texas A&M should go after Albert Simien pledges to Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Between he and Henderson, it seems clear that linebacker was the greater need, but the Aggies had solid leads for both of these players, so it is a disappointment to leave with only one of the two. Texas A&M's dreams of surpassing their nearly-unbreakable record from 2022 are all but scuttled with this result, but that's not all that important in the grand scheme of things.
The question remains, then: where should Texas A&M turn after Simien commits to the Irish? Are they done at offensive line at this point? Their four-man class includes DeMarrion Johnson, Kaeden Scott, Mark Matthews, and Kennedy Brown— an intimidating grouping, to be sure, but are they done?
There is one big fish still out there at offensive line that the Aggies are involved with, and that is Ismael Camara. Though there's not been nearly as much smoke around Camara and Texas A&M as there was with Simien, Texas A&M has quietly been hanging around with his other leaders.
That could be a tough one to pull ahead in, but he's not the only offensive lineman left on Texas A&M's board. They received a visit from Irmo, SC's Nate Carson at the beginning of the month, and though the Aggies lost out on Jaiden Bryant (also from Irmo), they may be in the running for his teammate.
Carson ranks as a four-star offensive lineman and just outside the nation's top 250, according to the 247Sports Composite. In-state Clemson and South Carolina, as well as the Georgia Bulldogs, are all working hard to win his commitment, but the Aggies could choose to make a push in this recruitment as well.
If Adam Cushing and the Aggies elect to stand pat, though, it would be tough to blame them. Texas A&M has two very highly-rated offensive linemen in the boat right now, and have just taken a high number at the position in the last two classes, so electing to stick with what they ahve would be understandable.
