No. 9 Vanderbilt – First Round Matchup: No. 9 Northwestern

It looked like the Aggies first round game in the SEC Tournament against the Commodores might decided their post season chances. With the loss the Aggies fell to the edge of the NIT bubble. They went 0-3 against Vanderbilt this year, losing 66-41, 72-67, and 68-54.

No. 2 Arizona – First Round Matchup: No. 15 North Dakota

An mid-December matchup in Houston saw the maroon and white lose yet another close contest. Tyler Davis posted one of his many double-doubles this season in the losing effort, falling 67-63. They won the Pac-12 tournament.

No. 4 West Virgina – First Round Matchup: No. 13 Bucknell

The press defense of the Mountaineers was too much for the inconsistent point guards of Texas A&M to handle. 23 turnovers saw the Aggies fall in this one 81-77. This was one more game that was close throughout but a late run put things out of reach. West Virginia reached the Big 12 tournament championship.
