What’s Next for the Aggies?

More from Gig Em Gazette

At the conclusion of Tuesday night’s victory, senior Austin Homan discussed the team’s recent mental adjustments. These adjustments, as well as the timely hitting, will hopefully continue as the Aggies head to Vanderbilt (13-8, 1-2 SEC) looking to get in the conference win column.

The weekend schedule is as follows:

  • Friday March 24th at 6:30pm on SEC Network+
  • Saturday March 25th at 7pm on SEC Network
  • Sunday March 26th at 3pm on SEC Network

As previously mentioned, this win was huge for the Aggies. The rough week to start SEC play was concerning, and the schedule doesn’t get any easier.

Vanderbilt is a perennial top 25 program as is LSU who the Aggies will face the weekend following the Commodores. When asked how big the win was, coach Rob Childress gave an honest assessment:

"It’s a big confidence booster anytime you can get a win, especially in this league. In D1 baseball, nothing is handed to you. It’s a big confidence boost heading into Vanderbilt, it’s going to be a tough battle but I think we’re ready for it"

We’re going to learn a lot about this team in the next few weeks. If Omaha really is in their sights they are going to have to get the bullpen and bats clicking in short order. BTHO Vandy.
