Gig’em Gazette Bracket Challenge Update

With four teams remaining it’s looking like the Gig’em Gazette Bracket Challenge Title contention had narrowed considerably as well. myles_ing17 2 has a commanding lead over the field and has the Zags picked to win it all. Can anyone else catch up? At this point it looks like the only other likely contender is War Dang Aggies who has UNC winning the title.

Beyond that, there are a handful of brackets without any points remaining. Site Expert Matthew Bartlett (@_MBartlett_) will not be taking home the title this year, but he’ll be in contention to finish in the middle of the pack – although he’s depending on Gonzaga to make it to the championship game.

For the sake of sheer madness, the most interesting final four combination would be Oregon defeating North Carolina and South Carolina besting Gonzaga setting up a championship game completely out of left field. Hey, if you can’t win it all, might as well root for insanity right?

Predictions

It takes a sensational three week stretch of basketball to still be playing as the calendar rolls into April. For that reason, each of these four teams has the talent to cut down the nets in Arizona. However, there seems to be something different about Gonzaga and North Carolina. No offense to Oregon and South Carolina, but there was a reason that the Zags and the ‘Heels were seeded higher than the other two Final Four squads.

I know it’s a bit more chalky than one might have hoped for a Tournament with the hallmark “March Madness”, but that’s my championship game pick, albeit a mulligan as I had UCLA going all the way. Oops. So who is the champion when it’s all said and done? I say Gonzaga. Not only does Mark Few lead the Zags to their first Final Four appearance in school history, but he caps it off with a National Title.
