Bottom Line

Texas A&M Baseball did a lot pulling out a win Sunday afternoon. After a tough loss Friday and a blowout Saturday, the Aggies showed a lot grit and determination to not roll over and take the sweep. However, the lack of offense for the majority of Friday and Saturday was unusual for the team that has been successful at the plate. That hurt especially on Friday as the pitching staff put the team in a great position to win. The pitching staff suffered a lot Saturday but was phenomenal on Sunday to save a win.

This team has a tough weekend series ahead of them at LSU. The Aggies have looked anything but impressive so far, and life in the SEC is only going to get more difficult. Texas A&M needs to win this series to keep pace in the SEC.

A series loss to LSU would put them at best 2-7 in their first nine games of SEC play. If that ends up being the case we’re going to have to start honestly evaluating post season potential. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
