For all the hot seat talk over the last few weeks, the one guy we haven’t talked much about is the first to go. Paul Finebaum said it best on Saturday afternoon:

Name a SEC coach and he’s probably on the hot seat. Florida is the first school to cut ties with their coach this season but more than likely won’t be the only team to do so by the time the 2017-2018 season is done.

Florida’s biggest issue this season has been their offense. They have scored more than 30 points just once this season, and that was against a bad Vanderbilt team. Of the 15 quarterbacks who have had measurable playing time this season, quarterback Feleipe Franks is 14th in passing yards with 830, second in sacks with 19, and 13th in QBR with 119.9.

Through week 9 the Gators sit at 3-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play, which currently puts them fourth in the East. Georgia, South Carolina, and Kentucky are all ahead of the Gators right now and of those three, the only team Florida has left to play this season is South Carolina.

The Gators managed just one touchdown this weekend against Georgia, and managed to escape Kentucky with a win, but still find themselves looking up at the Wildcats with just four games left to play.
