2. Georgia moves up to No. 2 in the AP Poll

We’ve been telling you that Georgia is good, but with the week 10 AP Poll out the rest of the college football world has been put on notice: the Bulldogs are great. Georgia has quietly gone 8-0 with a backup quarterback in the SEC.

That says something about SEC football this season to be sure, but regardless, it’s hard to go undefeated in football. The Bulldogs are the best team nobody seems to be talking about this season.

With the chaos in the top 25 the last few weeks the Bulldogs have steadily risen, and thanks to Ohio State’s incredible comeback against Saquon Barkley and Penn State, the Bulldogs now find themselves second to only Alabama (8-0, 5-0).

The playoff conversation has included a lot of teams, but this season has proved that whatever we think we know about this season, we’re probably wrong. The only constant is that there’s Alabama and then there’s everybody else.

The Bulldogs made their first appearance in the top four in Week 7, and outside of Alabama have been the only team that seems impervious to upsets this season. Clemson, Oklahoma, Penn State, and others have all come and gone, but Alabama and Georgia have stayed constant.

The SEC Championship this year could – and probably will be – a very interesting match-up of undefeateds. And even more interesting, what would the College Football Playoff committee do with the loser if there are three other undefeated conference champions out there?
