Texas A&M Football RB Devon Achane will be breathing down Isaiah Spiller’s neck all season long

It may seem odd to put two runningbacks on this list. That said, Isaiah Spiller and his backup Devon Achane could set new career highs next season. As mentioned, Spiller will be the workhorse for a Texas A&M Football team that will need an experienced guy to carry the load, but where does Achane stand?

Achane will essentially be Spiller’s sidekick in 2021.

While Spiller is shifty, intelligent, and hits holes to perfection, Achane is the polar opposite. He’s one of the fastest players in the country, with track star aspirations on the side of his football career.

We saw him show off his speed in the Orange Bowl against North Caroline and we’ll surely see it throughout the entirety of the upcoming season. Achane may not be a back who can run the ball 25 times in a game right now, but he can be a huge burst of energy when Spiller gets tired.

Expect these two players to form a deadly 1-2 punch, as both of them are among the most talented backs in the conference.

The bar is low right now for Achane, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for him to surpass his 364-yard, 4-touchdown totals from last season.
