Texas A&M Football blowout recipient No. 2: New Mexico Lobos

There’s no way to put this nicely — the New Mexico Lobos may be the worst team in college football. They won two games last season with a new head coach and don’t have very much figured out quite yet.

Their scoring offense finished 97th and their scoring defense finished 89th last year. Even with two wins, they’re considered one of the worst teams in the country from last season.

When it comes to “gimme” games at the college football level, this is as much of one as you can ask for. This is such a lopsided game that any margin of victory under four touchdowns would be considered a huge disappointment.

There’s not much more to it.

The Lobos offensive line struggled mightily in pass protection, so expect DeMarvin Leal to reach the backfield on virtually every play. At the end of the day, this is not much of a game. Even Texas A&M fans will be hoping that they scheduled a tougher opponent.

Regardless, this should be a fun one to watch for Aggie fans and a big confidence boost for a team with a few young players stepping into big roles.
