Aggies may encounter annoyance vs Arkansas they've managed to avoid this season

This will chafe at Aggie fans if it comes to pass.

There's a lot to be optimistic about for Texas A&M fans headed into this Saturday's matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks, but there's one factor that could put a damper on things— quite literally.

As of right now, the weather forecast for Fayetteville during game time is less than rosy. Far less than rosy, as a matter of fact: it looks like the Aggies will have to navigate some pretty stormy conditions in their second road game of the year as they look to take down the Hogs in Fayetteville for only the second time since joining the conference.

The current forecast is actually quite a bit better looking than it was earlier in the week— things were seeming pretty rough, with rather violent storms being prognosticated throughout the afternoon and even into the evening. The idea of conditions beginning to abate around 3-4 PM is far better than that, obviously— but it could still affect the outcome of this contest.

Texas A&M fans could be looking at weather delays, wet game conditions vs Arkansas

The first thing is that there could certainly be a weather delay at this game if things continue apace. Any lightning near the stadium means that play is ceased for at least 30 minutes, with that clock resetting any time more lightning strikes within the proper radius.

The Aggies have avoided any weather delays so far this year, but they encountered several of them in previous seasons. Last year, there was a long delay in the middle of the Florida game; in 2023, it happened in the road trip to Miami and the following weekend against ULM; in 2022, it was the opener against Sam Houston.

The other factor is an on-field one. Offense can be hard to come by in "weather games" like the one that Aggie fans could be looking at up in Fayetteville. This could potentially help the Aggies, as it may stymy the Razorback offense, but low-scoring games can also be high-variance.

This is an Aggie team that has earned a lot of trust, however. They just keep finding ways to win— and I think we see the exact same thing happen in this upcoming contest, no matter the weather.
