It wasn't just long ago when Texas A&M was flirting in recruiting talks with Tristen Keys, the number three-overall player in the nation. He committed to LSU in a high stakes battle in what was already a high stakes summer battle between Texas A&M, LSU and Tennessee.
Now, Keys has decided to flip his words and head to Rocky Top. This is surprising considering what's could've been already set for him at Aggieland. Mike Elko and the Aggies are set to to be one of the deadliest offenses the next few seasons if the cards are played correctly.
The portal can sneak up on a team, but in this generation, we have to worry about players switching up on their commitments. Personally, Keys is doing what he thinks is the best route for him, but fans the Bayou Bengals are getting a taste at what Aggies fans felt not too long ago.
LSU is feeling the aftermath of Keys' flipping to Tennessee
Hayes Fawcett with On3 had the stunning news, and with Keys flipping to Tennessee, he now becomes the highest-ranked WR commit in school history.

From the standpoint of an Aggie fan, there's definitely disappointment, but there's also confusion.
Keys had an opportunity to head to College Station where he could've built something with another fellow five-star freshman. Jerome Myles will miss the entire 2025 season due to injury, and while this is a huge blow, this brings up the obvious of why Keys didn't want to help form one of the deadliest WR tandems in the country.
This still stings, but the Aggies have had success on the recruiting trail for 2026, and Elko is already pulling off the stunts to land big names.
This is still a chance for Aggies fans to laugh in the face of Tigers fans, but it's unfortunate that A&M had two opportunities to land Keys, and they failed on each try.
