Texas A&M football fans were on high alert after this recruiting news, but this went a long way towards quelling concerns.

Recruiting is always a high-anxiety game— something that Texas A&M football fans know pretty well. The Aggies have been on both sides of some pretty epic recruiting battles over the years, and have seen a lot more success than failure thus far in this particular cycle.

If the Aggies' class holds, it is the kind of group that can set a great foundation for an elite future in College Station— but the trick is getting it to hold. With the quality of prospect that the Aggies have committed right now, it should be no surprise that other teams are coming after their commits with a fury.

One such commitment that has come into question over the last couple of days is that of elite RB KJ Edwards from East Texas. It was announced that Edwards would be visiting a couple of different SEC programs over the course of the season— something that is par for the course in one sense, but also served to worry Aggie fans.

Now, though, it really seems like there's nothing to worry about. A family member of KJ himself has chimed in to set Aggie minds at ease.

Following news of KJ Edwards visiting LSU, Texas, his father sets A&M minds at ease: "It's still Gig Em"

The following tweet from KJ's dad was sent out yesterday afternoon and largely overlooked, but I think it's important:

In this, he tells fans to "keep calm" and assures them that KJ is not wavering in his commitment status, despite what some have been conjecturing. This is definitely reassuring to some, who had been wondering what Edwards' visits to other campuses might mean going forward.

Now, Aggie fans are not completely out of the woods, of course— there's always the chance that A&M's season goes completely awry and opponents are able to press into whatver doubts may be created. But as long as A&M goes out and plays competitively, I think they are able to weather whatever storm these opposing programs will levy in this recruitment— and this tweet from KJ's dad just confirms that.
