Power ranking the SEC after week 6: #9 - Arkansas

What a win for Sam Pittman and the Hogs this past weekend. That’s the definition of a gritty, gutsy win—a low-scoring, top-5 victory at home, the kind that saves your career at a given school.

It wasn’t easy, either. Taylen Green took a nasty hit that knocked him out for a little bit, but the backup QB made some big plays against a solid Tennessee defense. This is a really tough-nosed Arkansas team—one that may end up being quite the quality victory for A&M and Oklahoma State.

The Hogs get a much-needed week off before hosting LSU on October 19. Could Sam Pittman’s crew make it two straight big victories at home? That could be a bit much to ask, but it all of a sudden doesn’t seem out of the question—especially against a defense like what the Tigers are rolling out there right now.

The odds for Arkansas to make a bowl game just shot way up. This is a result that could do nothing less than completely shift the complexion of Pittman’s entire tenure in Fayetteville—and they still have opportunity to build further coming up.
