Predicting next domino to fall for Texas A&M after picking up 5-star Eric McFarland

Texas A&M can build on their red-hot momentum after adding another five-star by picking up another one... or two.

With five-star receiver Eric McFarland now officially in the boat for Texas A&M football, Aggie fans everywhere are wondering the same thing: who will be next to jump in the boat? Texas A&M has done an amazing job thus far at building a commanding lead for the top overall class, but they have several upcoming chances to extend that lead even further.

There have been some recruitments that have seemed all but locks for the Aggies over the last few weeks but have ended up going elsewhere— John Meredith and Albert Simien in particular. However, those aside, the Aggies still have a great shot at several top-shelf targets.

Here are three possibilities and a prediction for who the next player to jump in the boat for the Aggies will be.

Predicting next big time recruit to commit to Texas A&M football after Eric McFarland

RB Landen Williams-Callis

The dynamic and productive running back out of Richmond Randle High School (where the Aggies' own Chace Sims was a star a few years back) seems to be nearing a decision now that his official visit slate has concluded, and Aggie fans are watching closely.

There are more than just a few Texas fans who feel great about their chances in this one right now, but we've seen Trooper Taylor foil Longhorn hopes with an extremely productive if diminutive in-state running back before. That's maybe overly specific, but it's interesting that it applies two years in a row.

His Recruiting Prediction Machine on Rivals is split between the Aggies and the Longhorns right now, with Texas A&M holding a slight edge— 53% to Texas's 41%. There are two predictions on the book for the Aggies and two for Texas— though it's worth mentioning that the two for Texas A&M are older, yet also coming from Rivals' national analysts while the two for Texas are from Longhorn beat writers.

Things are murky enough right now, though, that it's hard to definitively say that Williams-Callis will be that next commitment for Texas A&M. He'll likely make a decision soon, and it could be for Texas A&M, but it's too hard to tell right now.

OT Ismael Camara

This has been one of the more intriguing recruitments on the docket for the Aggies for quite some time now, and even more so now that Albert Simien is off the board and bound for South Bend. Will the Aggies reset and devote their attention towards the in-state five-star Camara, or will they go in a different direction?

There's a lot of buzz around the Oregon Ducks, the rival Texas Longhorns and, surprisingly, the SMU Mustangs in this recruitment right now, which might surprise some fans. Camara has kept his intentions opaque, and everyone is pretty much guessing in this one.

I'm not feelign great about the Aggies' chance to add Camara, however. He has shown more interest in other programs up until this point, at least if his visit schedule is anything to go by. Adam Cushing has pulled off bigger coups (namely, Mark Matthews), but I wouldn't predict Camara to be the next Aggie commit at this point.

CB Joshua Dobson

The drama surrounding Texas A&M's recruitment of the top two cornerbacks in the nation looks like it will be all but completely resolved in a few days' time, as John Meredith has gone public with a decision for the Texas Longhorns, leaving Dobson's commitment this upcoming Wednesday. It's always seemed likely that the Aggies would finish with one of those two, but now fans are on pins and needles.

Texas A&M is still the team to beat right now, though, as the Palmetto State cornerback apparently has an 86% chance to end up with the Aggies according to Rivals' Recruiting Prediction Machine. With only days to go in this recruitment, though, the Aggies will have to no doubt navigate some twists and turns courtesy of the Michigan Wolverines and South Carolina Gamecocks.

I feel confident they can do just that, however. That's why Dobson is my pick to jump in the boat for the Aggies next out of this group, becoming the fourth (!!!) five-star defensive back in the class for Texas A&M, giving Aggieland a lockdown secondary for years to come.
