Texas A&M fans are looking forward to a historic NFL Draft for their program beginning tonight, with as many as twelve to fourteen Aggie players set to hear their names called over the next few days. That should begin tonight, as up to three Texas A&M players have been projected as late first-round selections, which would tie with 2013 for the most Aggies selected in the first round.
However, with the draft only hours away, Texas A&M fans are seeing some dark clouds gathering over those chances. Cashius Howell, the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year, has seen his draft stock steadily dip since concerns about his arm length began to crop up following the NFL Draft, but his production is tough to argue with, which means he still has a chance to go in the top 32.
That still leaves KC Concepcion and Chase Bisontis, though, both of whom have been popular picks to go at some point after 20 in many mock drafts. However, the latest word on the street has Aggie fans concerned that none of those three will be selected.
Pessimism from NFL insiders means Texas A&M football could be shut out of NFL Draft first round
In today's mock draft from ESPN, Field Yates completely shuts the Aggies out of the first round— not even Chase Bisontis makes an appearance despite his meteoric stock rise as of late.

The above comment is from Mel Kiper, who has been down on the Aggies for some time at this point. However, it's concerning to see a guy like Yates joining in with Kiper's assessments here in his predictions— could the Aggies be losing ground?
I'm not sure it's likely that we see the Aggies completely out of the first round, but this will definitely serve to shake the confidence of many A&M fans. If tonight comes and goes without a single player from the Maroon and White hearing their name called, then it will be a gut punch, for sure.
As of right now, this is still a minority opinion. Most other mock drafts you look at will have at least one Aggie player in the top 32 selections— mostly Concepcion or Bisontis. However, this will be hanging over the heads of many Texas A&M fans as round one wears on this evening, without a doubt.
