Texas A&M Aggies news: Josh Reynolds standing out in camp, recruiting race for no. 1 tightens, and more
Here's your daily dose of Texas A&M Aggies news for July 28, 2025.
Former Texas A&M receiver Josh Reynolds making noise in Jets camp
Josh Reynolds is one of the most underrated Aggies in the NFL right now. He was always a solid receiver for the Aggies in college, and though he's bounced around the league a bit, he's always found a way to be a solid contributor.
Video recently emerged of him absolutely destroying premier corner Sauce Gardner in camp, and some hype is growing around his prospects with the Jets. Could Reynolds be a number-one receiver for New York? Only time will tell.
Recruiting rankings update favor Aggies' chances at number one overall
Landing the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation is the rarest of birds for most schools, given that Georgia and Alabama have ruled the roost in that respect over the last decade-plus. However, the Aggies got their foot in the door during 2022, and they have a chance to repeat in this cycle.
There's a lot that needs to happen, but a recent update from the recruiting services saw the Aggies' commits move in a positive direction overall. You can read all the details here, as well as the steps that need to be taken for A&M to end up in the coveted top spot.
Top corner shuts down recruitment in favor of Texas A&M
Victor Singleton, a corner prospect who the Aggies flipped from Illinois, just announced that he was shutting his recruitment down for good and sticking with the Ags. After recently leaping up to a top-50 ranking, his announcement is great for the Aggies.
This means he will form quite a formidable duo at corner alongside Brandon Arrington for years to come in College Station. That's been a tough spot for the Aggies for a lot of their time in the SEC, so locking in Singleton is pretty huge.
Jace LaViolette signs with Guardians for big time payday
Though Jace slid further than a lot of fans wanted to see, he was still able to get a pretty good payday. After being selected 27th by Cleveland, Jace signed the biggest over-slot deal in the entire first round, being only one of three players to sign a deal like that at all.
This speaks to how highly the franchise values him, as they should. Here's hoping we see him star in the majors sooner rather than later.
