If Texas A&M basketball fans weren't excited about their new era from before, they should start now.
Earlier in the week, Buzz Williams admitted that he recruited a player to Maryland while he was still under contract with Texas A&M. We're not sure if the NCAA will do something with that, but either way, fans are turning the opposite direction to Bucky McMillan.
Once again, Texas A&M was snubbed with no preseason All-SEC basketball selections. Of course, the Aggies have a lot to prove with pretty much all new faces, but it's a little surprising that not even one of them got the nod to get on a preseason watch list.
Texas A&M basketball starts with no preseason All-SEC selections
If you're fan, you just expect it at this point. Not even Pop Isaacs or Mackenzie Mgbako weren't good enough to get their name on the list— at least that's what the voters say.
To go even further, McMillan said that Rashaun Agee could be the face of Texas A&M basketball, and went to left field to call him a potential first-round selection in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Aggies can either be a team that will need time to figure it out, or surprise the SEC by being a sneaky, deep team.
Even after scoring 95 points against Arizona State recently, the Aggies said that they still didn't live up to their potential, and even left points on the board from the free throw line, an Achilles heel from last season.
The Aggies are a true "make or break" team this season. Joe Lunardi still believes they could barely squeak by, but the truth is, the Aggies already have a chip on their shoulder. Maybe this preseason snub is exactly what Bucky needs to add fuel to the fire.
