No sooner did I put out a piece talking about the Aggies being predicted to land five-star edge rusher Tristian Givens than he goes ahead and commits to Texas A&M football. And I mean no sooner: the piece was published at 2:49 central, and the tweet announcing Givens' commitment dropped within the exact same minute.

This is a massive win for Texas A&M football over the Tennessee Volunteers, who had been thought to be the leaders for Givens after his visit there last weekend. The Aggies outlasted them, however, leaning on their relationships and longstanding status in this recruitment to bring Givens into the fold.
Givens joins Jordan Carter as edge commitments for the Aggies from the state of Georgia. Carter hails from Douglasville, while Givens comes from Columbus, which is essentially in Auburn's backyard, geographically speaking. Plucking a five-star out of the heart of SEC country is big boy recruiting, and Elko is demonstrating that he belongs with the heavyweights.
Texas A&M football adds five-star edge rusher Tristian Givens in gargantuan win over Tennessee, others
This is the latest in an unbelievable hot streak of recruiting that Mike Elko has been on going back a few weeks. Brandon Arrington is another five-star talent that the Aggies have brought in over that last stretch, with the rangy and extremely speedy CB joining up with A&M only two days ago.
That streak has been enough to rocket the Aggies back up to the number-two spot in the overall rankings, only behind the USC Trojans. At least according to the 247 rankings, the Aggies' top three-rated commits— Givens, Arrington, and KJ Edwards— have all made their pledge within the last four days.
That's not even to mention what the Aggies have in front of them. There's a big finish still coming down the pike, and the Ags could add even more top talent to this already-stellar class. We'll have more on that shortly here as the celebration continues for Texas A&M's latest five-star addition.
