Texas A&M fans get a preview of the elite combination they're about to see for years

If you were to ask for the names of two fast-rising freshmen for Texas A&M in fall camp, you'd likely hear two fo the same names over and over again: CB Brandon Arrington and WR Aaron Gregory. Arrington, a former five-star player and top corner in the country, is making a strong case for himself to start even over players much more senior than he in Julio Humphrey and Rickey Gibson, while it seems a certainty that Gregory will get a chance to get in the lineup with the rest of the Texas A&M receivers at some point this season.

That's a duo that seems like they will be making plays for years to come in the maroon and white, in other words, and we got a little bit of a taste of that in the spring game. Arrington got the better of that matchup on that day, but with the way that insiders have raved about Gregory, you had to know that he'd get his as well.

With fall camp underway and the gathered media there to capture the goings-on, a clip has emerged of Gregory and Arrington in a one-on-one matchup that has the rare distinction of being something that will make fans feel good about both players— and it has to be seen to be believed.

The ball skills on display by both Arrington and Gregory are nothing short of remarkable. This is particularly encouraging for Arrington in particular, as he came in with the reputation of being a track star who would need time to get some polish rather than a guy who could step into the shoes of a starting SEC corner immediately.

From this clip, though, he looks like he could slide right into that latter designation without much trouble. That says quite a lot about him, especially in a scheme that is as demanding as Mike Elko's.

Of course, that's a lot about Arrington without even talking about the guy who "won" the rep in Gregory. For everything you could say about the elite vision and skill that it took for Arrington to punch that ball out, you would have to top yourself in praising the skill it took for Gregory to actually pull the catch in.

This is a prime example of why Gregory is going to push for playing time early this season. Isaiah Horton seems to be the clear starter at X receiver, but Gregory is simply too good to be kept off of the field.

Though AG faded in the rankings down the stretch of last year, he looks like he is going to prove to be one fo the most consequential additions of this past class. He will be a key player going forward for the Aggies, just like Arrington, and both of them together will be putting out highlights just like this for Aggie fans for years to come.
