Texas A&M fans shouldn't panic at all about Cam Coleman committing to Texas

Texas A&M fans just took a gut punch, as Texas was the one to sign Cam Coleman after Texas A&M, among others, had high hopes to jump on the former Auburn Tiger.

A&M fans shouldn't be too worried, though. After all, the A&M defense can only control what they can, and when they have faced Coleman, he's been shut down. Coleman only had four catches for 18 yards in the Auburn game this season.

Arch Manning will have another weapon to turn to, but Aggies fans shouldn't be worried about that either.

Texas A&M has nothing to worry about with Cam Coleman's Texas announcement

Texas still has a lot to solve about its RB position. It's going to look entirely different this offseason, as well as their offensive line. The A&M defense did a pretty good job defending Manning in the pass last season, but when he used his legs, the Aggies weren't as effective at bringing him down to the ground, and fans had flashbacks about LaNorris Sellers in 2024.

That needs to be fixed in 2026, but defending Coleman is something A&M can do well. However, in 2024, Coleman had seven catches for 128 yards. The defense struggled in the second half of the season and had a hard time against every opponent.

With players like Dezz Ricks and Marcus Ratcliffe returning, as well as the addition of Rickey Gibson, this is an advantage for the Aggies. The addition of Tawfiq Byard will be huge for every game this year, but by the time we get to the Texas game, Byard will make his name own in the SEC.

It will hurt to see Coleman wear burnt orange, but it's not the end of the world. The Aggies are still in a great position with the players they already have.
