Texas A&M has just picked up a commitment from five-star edge rusher Zyron Forstall out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, winning his pledge despite hard pushes from both Miami and Notre Dame. LSU was involved as well, as Forstall is originally from Louisiana, but the Aggies were the team to win out in the end, as industry insiders have been predicting for some time.

Forstall ranks as the 13th overall player per the 247Sports rankings and the 11th-ranked player in the nation per ESPN. Standing at 6'4" and a shade under 230, his ability to bend with speed off the corner is matched by very few in this class— one of those being Anthony Sweeney, who the Aggies also have the inside track for.

Texas A&M sends tremors through recruiting landscape with massive win over Miami and Notre Dame

This is another step that the Aggies have taken towards that no. 1 overall class that some have spoken about in hushed whispers when considering A&M's prospects in this cycle. Forstall joins three other five-star defenders in Texas A&M's class in Raylaun Henry, JayQuan Snell, and Kamarui Dorsey.

Forstall is teammates with another five-star talent in IMG's Eric McFarland, who the Aggies have also done a good job with recently. You can bet the current teammates will have more than just a passing thought of pairing up in college, which would spell great things for the Aggies.

This is the first massive commitment for Elijah Robinson on a national scale since returning to Texas A&M— although it could be argued that getting Kaden McCarty and Myels Smith in the boat were just as big, if a bit underrated by the national services.

Texas A&M is now working towards one of the best defensive classes we've ever seen, with four five-star prospects on that side of the ball already. They're trending for a few more, including the aforementioned Anthony Sweeney. The Aggies are trending to build on this previous year in a big way in this cycle, and Forstall is a massive step in that direction.
