Marcel Reed quickly became a fan favorite after his performance against LSU.

Now, he's now officially the de facto QB1 for the future.

Reed took to some questions from the media before they take the flight to Las Vegas to face USC.

Marcel Reed admits he has to step up and be a leader

When answering a question about his new role in College Station, Reed told the media that he would need to step up now with Conner Weigman off to Houston.

Reed was blunt about his new role and was confident that he can be the vocal leader of his offense going forward.

"Obviously, it's a new room and I'm the leader of it now. Just with a lot of new guys, young guys coming in, you know I got to be that pillar that they can lean on or come to whenever they need help. I got to be that guy that leads by example," Reed said.

This is exactly how Reed needs to own up and take charge. As someone who was at starting quarterback for most of the season, it really wasn't until the second half of the year when we recognized that Reed was going to be guy moving forward.

Now, he'll have a full offseason to get focused as the new starting quarterback.

Reed is someone who was first recognized for using his legs to extend plays. He's only someone that will get better with his arm talent as he progresses during his time with Collin Klein.

As someone who is now the leader on the offensive end, the vocal leadership needs to be just as important as his growth on the field.

His talents against USC coming up can be used as an evaluation for how he can improve his game in the 2025 season.
