Texas A&M football has gotten a bye week at just the right time, as the massive win over the LSU Tigers on the road in Death Valley marks one of the top moments of the season that the Ags now get to relish for an extra week. Just like the win over Notre Dame, the week of rest afterwards is a welcome one for the team and fans alike.

There's no rest for this coaching staff, however. Mike Elko and his assistants will no doubt be making the best use of the time as they hit the recruiting trail and sell the stars of tomorrow on the success and culture that has come to College Station.

With two big time names set for upcoming announcements, you can bet they'll be working overtime to get them locked in with the Aggies. If they do so, they'll be well-positioned to bring home a possible number one overall class in the 2027 cycle.

Texas A&M must lock down two five star recruits over bye week

The first announcement is coming this Saturday, November 1, from safety Kamarui Dorsey. A five-star prospect in the 2027 class, the Aggies have been trending this fall and have received a lot of buzz as he has narrowed down his schools.

A native of Georgia, he could be the latest from the Peach State to take his talents to College Station. Thanks to some deep roots in the south from some of the stalwarts on this coaching staff, Trooper Taylor in particular, the Ags have formed quite a pipeline from Georgia to Aggieland.

The other name to watch is announcing on November 15, when the Aggies play the South Carolina Gamecocks: CB Raylaun Henry out of Maryland. Texas A&M is also trending for the five-star cover man, who would be another elite add to a formidable secondary.

With the stature of these recruits in the 2027 class, this would be a heck of a way to announce yourself on the scene for that cycle— but it also means that the other teams will not exactly be going quietly in these races. Elko and this staff are trending for both, but they've got to use this time to close the deal.
