Time: 11 a.m. CST
Venue: Dr. Pepper Ballpark

The Aggies will wrap up the weekend on Sunday morning against the Pac-12’s California at 11 a.m.

Junior RHP Mitchel Kilkenny will get the start for the Aggies in this one. Kilkenny is 2-0 on the season with a 1.42 ERA. He has struck out 15 and allowed just five hits in 12.2 innings of work. He has the lowest batting average among Aggie pitchers with significant playing time with a stellar 1.22.

California will throw LHP Matt Ladrech. Ladrech has a 1-1 record and a 3.27 ERA. Opponents have a batting average of .283 against Ladrech.

Offensively, freshman Andrew Vaughn is leading the California Bears in 2018. Vaughn is batting .542 with five home runs and 14 RBI in just seven games this season. That’s about as incredible as you can get – with the potential exception of hitting for the cycle in your first few college baseball games.

Junior Jonah Davis is also playing well right now. He was named Pac-12 Player of the Week this week after going 8-for-14 with two home runs and 12 RBI. Cal has a team batting average of .361 this season, good for fifth in the NCAA. They sit just ahead of Texas A&M, who we mentioned earlier is sixth at .353.

Vaughn verses Kilkenny will be a fun battle to keep an eye on for the final game of the Frisco College Classic. He has the potential to give Texas A&M a lot of trouble this weekend, and this would be the game I’d be most worried about keeping the Aggies from finishing the weekend with their perfect record still intact.
